Bitney is a school where the teachers really care about their students, and the students are encouraged to support one another. The requirement for every student to find work at an internship each year helps their confidence and understanding of responsibility. After 8 years at a very small private school, my son was very nervous about public high school, but he says he has never felt so safe, happy, and appreciated as he does at Bitney.
Bitney does an amazing job with its mission--every child known, respected and educated. Our son had a great experience at this school and graduated in June of '17. With the change in the teaching model last school year and the implementation of Big Picture learning, Bitney has taken the next step toward individualized learning that can't be found at any other of the local high schools. Our son thoroughly enjoyed his internships and the way his own curiosity was an input into his learning.
This is a wonderful school with a very dedicated staff of amazing teachers that are very engaged with the students and truly care about each student as an individual. They go above and beyond to help everyone succeed through high school and assist with the college process starting from their freshman year all the way through high school.
I just love Bitney, awesome in all ways ^.^
