If you have a heart to serve the most vulnerable people around you with a godly heart, I highly recommend that you definitely consider the MAGDJ program. Your view of the world’s system will be challenged. You will also be more effective as a Christian by your responses to the struggles of our world and will experience true life transformation.
This program is great for those who want a theological AND practical foundation for serving others and sharing the love of Jesus. I appreciate that the professors are grounded in the truth of the Bible, and that they bring with them years of experience and best practices. I've come away from this program with the ability to think critically about the world's biggest issues, and yet maintain the hope of Christ as the saviour of all. I highly recommend this program, it is taught with passion and excellence, and it produces people who are changing their communities.
I have loved my time in the Global Development and Justice program. It is an incredible experience where professors care, assumptions are challenged and relationships are built. I have gained a deeper understanding of how to recognize the value and capacity of individuals and communities I work with, I have fallen more in love with Jesus and I have learned how to follow Him in ways that are more intentional, informed and biblical.
I'm just starting this program and have just finished the blended portion together with the other online students in Rwanda. It's been a challenging couple of weeks. We've seen things we couldn't have even fathomed. Our hearts have been broken by some of the injustices we have witnessed and delighted as we've seen our African brothers and sisters overcome in amazing ways. Im very excited to dig into the reading and papers that will further shape my mind and strengthen my resolve to create change.
I can't say enough about how much I loved this program. You will be taught by those who are deeply passionate about what they are teaching. The profs are really there alongside you the whole way and they really want for you the best in your in learning, being in community, and being connected. This is reflected in the cohort set up, the internships, the guest speakers they bring, and projects that push you to reach out to the community. You will need a learner's heart to get ...the most out of it. This program will stretch you and you will be deeply impacted and challenged by multiple perspectives from the topics, staff, and your peers. Also, because they take student feedback seriously, this program continues to evolve to shape the needs of the students even more each year. I could go on and on, again, I can't say enough about how much I appreciated it.
